The Challenge:

Warrigal was already accredited as an aged care provider by the government, but wanted to continue improving their services and further prove that they were a best practice employer.

The challenge for Recovery Partners was to help them achieve the requirements of the Australian Standard 4801 Occupational Health & Safety Standard Certification to prepare for a stage 1 SAI Global audit.

The Solution:

Recovery Partners began consulting with Warrigal for five days each month. In that time, we worked with Warrigal in a number of ways to ensure that everyone within the organisation, in all different departments, knew the correct standards and procedures for working safely.

To do this, Recovery Partners conducted internal audits to ensure that Warrigal reached certain benchmarks.

Staff were introduced to new safety procedures and trained to check that all things were being done correctly. Recovery Partners would ensure that these procedures were effective on later visits to different Warrigal service locations.

We also helped Warrigal create a more user-friendly online reporting system, which helped reduce time and paperwork.

The Results:

Warrigal was awarded the number one Australian Safety Standard, AS4801 Certification.

They have raised the benchmark for their competitors and are now one of the only aged care providers to have the AS4801 Certificate in New South Wales.

They are dedicated to being number one in the industry, and continue to work alongside Recovery Partners to ensure they receive the most up to date health and safety knowledge and advice to help them continually improve their safety procedures.

What the Client Had to Say:

“Achieving AS4801 was important at Warrigal so we could demonstrate that our focus on safety was driven by meeting the highest benchmark in Australia. Recovery Partners were integral in this process by assisting us develop the systems and processes required, and then undertaking audits and providing feedback to Warrigal on areas of improvement. They worked closely with the Managers at each location and provided the Executive with regular updates on any audits undertaken.”
